Liam Jade comes from my kids middle names. The Sweets and Treats came about from being a third generation baker. My Memaw owned a brick and mortar bakery in Lake City, Fl. Growing up I would see her, my dad and my aunts & uncles making all kinds of sweet treats and extravagant wedding cakes. I'm talking layers, levels, pillars, delicate hand piping, icing flowers.... the works! A tradition in my family was making endless tins and trays of baked goods and candies every year at Christmas Time. While I certainly don't have the attention span or patience to make divinity, fudge, and the like... I still do some form of baked goodies for close friends as gifts. For years, people have asked me to randomly bake cakes, cupcakes, or make treats for whatever special occasion they had. Since cutting back from the lifestyle of an over worked General Manager at the local Family Entertainment Center, I now work part-time in the financial aid position at a local private school while homeschooling my children. Through the words of my son "Mom, just open a bakery." My spare time led me to baking more, and I decided to just "open a bakery" turn it into an official thing in 2024.
